No cookies
This site sets no cookies. None. Not for preferences, not for sessions, not for measurement, not for advertising. There is no first-party storage and no third-party storage.
There is no consent banner, because a banner would be a lie: there is nothing to consent to. If you have seen one here, you were looking at a different site.
The one thing we do store
Your light or dark theme choice, in your browser's local storage, under the key
cg-theme. It stays on your device, it is never transmitted, and it is
removed when you clear site data for the site. It is not a cookie, it is not readable by us, and
it identifies nobody.
Analytics, and the line we will not cross without changing this page
There is one measurement activity, and it happens on our servers rather than yours. Request logs are truncated and anonymised at the edge before they are stored, and raw logs are deleted after 30 days. Nothing is loaded into your browser to measure you, so there is nothing to block and nothing to consent to.
If a client-side analytics tool is ever added — a script in your browser that builds a profile and reports it back — then this page must be rewritten first, and a consent mechanism must exist before the tool is loaded, not after. German and Austrian visitors are the reason this is stated as a hard rule rather than a preference: in those jurisdictions consent must be obtained before the first storage, and there is no reading of our current position that would let us skip it. We would rather not add such a tool than spend the project's credibility on a consent dialog.
Crawlers, including AI crawlers
Search engine crawlers and AI crawlers are both welcome. Nothing on this site is blocked for being a bot, and no crawler is served a different page from a person. If you quote this site, the fair thing is to quote the date on the page and to say the times are scheduled rather than observed. That is the whole of our position on citation, and it is set out in full on the known limits page.
Crawling is not the same as syndication. We do not register or feed our timetable data to Google Maps, Apple Maps, Moovit, Transit App or any other aggregator, so a crawler reading our pages will find a schedule with a date on it rather than a source that is treated as a departure board. The reason is accuracy, and it is explained on the open data page.
Third-party embeds
There are none. No video embeds, no advertising tags, no chat widgets, no embedded maps that phone home, no social media pixels. The map tiles in the island planners are a static asset served from our own host, not a live third-party tile service, which is also how they keep working with no signal.
